Changing the narrative within employee benefits

OUR Mission

Brokers are in a unique position when it comes to interpreting and advising on claims and claim patterns relating to mental health within a company. As forward-thinking brokers, we are in a privileged position to direct our clients to the best resources possible for their particular need.

As a B-Corp certified employee benefits brokerage, our mission is to equip companies with the most comprehensive, evidence-based, and tech-forward mental health programs and solutions available.

OUR Advocacy

With over 98% of working Canadians having access to an employee-benefits plan, the group insurance industry has a large role to play in the mental health outcomes of Canadians. We’re here to move the dial by advocating for:

  1. Higher mental health coverage limits with more robust and culturally-sensitive mental health offerings.

  2. Mental health programs that are grounded in evidence-based principles.

  3. Harnessing the data within the benefits industry to further advance our understanding of mental health in the workplace.

Welcome to the future of corporate health.

Our Team

MB Pension & Benefits Group is bringing life back to the otherwise homogenized industry of employee benefits. That’s right, we’re making employee benefits great again. As an all-female owned and operated employee benefits brokerage with operations in Western and Atlantic Canada, we firmly believe in the ripple effect of supporting mental health in the workplace – and our brand is a living example of this.

Between our extensive and credible background in the field of psychology, combined with our success and expertise in the benefits space when it comes to mental health consulting and benefits, our expertise is unparalleled in the industry. As a progressive, purpose-driven, and socially focused firm, we were the first all-female owned and operated organization in Canada to obtain a B-Corp certification. During our second year of being B-Corp certified, we were awarded Best for the World in Social Governance.

Our social purpose is the driving force behind our business; we are constantly seeking out best-in-class mental health platforms and service providers within the overall ecosystem of health to bring about lasting change. By offering data-driven, custom-tailored mental health & wellness programs, we advocate for our clients by constantly striving for innovation, care, and efficacy.

A graduate and former scholarship athlete in hockey at St. Francis Xavier University, Alley joined the MB team in 2019. After what was meant to be an internship with MB Group between her undergrad degree and graduate school, Alley decided to forgo several offers to pursue her PhD in clinical psychology and become a key part of a brokerage that was ready to lead an entire industry forward.

Her psychology-based analysis of mental health claims has provided us invaluable, groundbreaking insights into how we, and the insurance industry as a whole, can transform how we address mental health in the workplace.

She is passionate about using her skills to help people access better and more culturally sensitive support and loves working for a B Corp that continually breaks the status quo, from being all female-owned and operated, to having an average age of 27 at the time of their first B-Corp certification.

Alley currently lives in Calgary and has a passion for hockey and hitting the slopes, skiing all winter long.
